My niece has been a faloner for many years and presently has a young red tailed hawk which she captured last year. The passion she has for falconry as well as the bond she has with her falcon is akin to the centuries old practice of falconry around the world. The community of Ontario falcons is a disciplined, tight knit community that is ready to help each other as well as volunteer where needed and my niece takes part in the counting of goshawks.
I believe Ontario falconers should be able to capture more common raptors like red tailed hawks to hunt with and a limited draw of goshawks as this provides a good balance of historic practice with the natural world.
