I support Falconers having the ability to take wild birds in Ontario. Falconers tend to be excellent stewards of the natural world. They tend to gather knowledge and make good choices for the entire ecosystem and all members therein. Eliminating the draw for Goshawks and other raptors is a smart step in learning to trust Falconers as stewards and citizen scientists in Ontario. It is well known that one cannot legislate morality. The right thing to do is based on principles and not laws. Falconers exists because of their deep and abiding love for the natural world, including raptors. It is best not to limit their access to what they are best suited to care for. I am thankful that Falconers helped Peregrine Falcons regain their place in nature. Falconers have earned a place of respect interacting with raptors in the wild.
