I have a family member that has been an avid falconer for many years. I understand that 75% of first year immature raptors will die in their first winter. Falconers are able to give these raptors a chance for survival after successful hunting and then releasing them back into the wild.
I also support the proposal to include Ontario in the UNESCO designation to bring it in line with the five other Canadian provinces.
Falconers are very dedicated and I certainly support them in their expanded access to wild raptors.
