My father has been an active falconer for as long as I can remember. Therefore from a very early age I saw how dedicated himself and other falconers were to their birds and to conservation. I feel this proposal will result in a significant improvement in falconry in Ontario by increasing fairness with the removal of the draw for common birds of prey and enabling all apprentices to get the right bird from the beginning. The addition of goshawks will allow falconers to have the opportunity to fly a very important species and will also encourage conservation.
