One of my colleagues is a falconer. I know how passionate she is about the sport. During the time Ive know her she's had a wild trapped red tailed hawk and a wild trapped coopers hawk. I know how much joy having these birds have brought her, and how much time and dedication she puts into her pursuit of falconry.
I know that the wild birds she has had in the past were successfully released to the wild, but its a decision that can be difficult to make not knowing if she will be drawn for another permit.
My understanding is that wild take of common raptor species by falconers, even if increased, will have negligible impacts on the populations of those species.
In summary, I support the changes submitted in the proposal.
