I'm a zoologist and have been working professionally with birds, including more than 30 species of raptors, for almost 20 years. I support this proposal as both currently sustainable and beneficial to most of the individual raptors who may be transitioned through their juvenile period with human assistance. Falconry is an ancient sport, but one that is not incompatible with current animal welfare best practices and should be allowed to progress and continue through the passion of the practitioners. We harm no creature, no individual, and no environment by supporting it. Congratulations to the MNR on considering moving in this positive direction.
