I am opposed to the proposal…

I am opposed to the proposal to permit capture of Northern Goshawks. Goshawks are a rare species of bird in Ontario and population trends are poorly understood. The available evidence indicates that populations are in decline, as with many bird species. This proposal would put additional pressure on Goshawk populations in Ontario. Additionally, I am opposed to increasing the numbers of other species of hawks and falcons permitted to be captured without sound scientific evidence supporting the ability of those populations of birds to withstand the increased pressure.
