The proposed regulation will help bring about needed change and is a strong step to enhance the existing blue box programs across the province and providing expanded service areas. We are eager to see the role out of the program in 2024 with our other BRA members. No doubt there will be some challenges through the various transition periods but ultimately this will be good for our residents and Ontario.
We would like to see ICI properties be captured for service under this regulation. Diversion of blue box materials from ICI properties and municipal sources would be a welcome improvement across the province.
We will continue to follow the progression of this program and look forward to learning more details regarding implementation as they become available.
