This proposal flies in the face of the world being in a climate emergency. Prioritizing renewables is important in order to reduce emissions and avoid growing the use of gas fired electricity which has health impacts that are not currently factored into its price but cost tax payers indirectly. We should be moving forward, not backward, regardless of the progress that was made in the past by phasing out coal. This seems like a proposal made by oil and gas proponents and not Ontario citizens.
