We need to plan an Energy Future for Ontario that is 100% renewable. This can be achieved through conservation measures, more hydro power from Quebec and an increase in funding for wind, solar and geothermal projects. Our current reliance on nuclear energy must end as soon as possible. It is the high cost and cost overruns of nuclear projects that are the real reason for the high cost of electricity in the province. In addition, nuclear power is dirty and dangerous. Fossil fuels are non renewable and contribute to global warming so should also be phased out. This plan is completely achievable if the will is there.
