The proposed regulation that would repeal sections of three provincial acts that promote and prioritize renewable energy development in the province is unnecessary and it is completely inappropriate both in terms of the nature of this regulation and in terms of the timing of the regulation when all possible attention should be on the pandemic.
The nature of this regulation makes no sense and is the opposite of what most sensible, concerned, and science aware governments are doing. It is out of contact with reality since solar and wind are now our lowest-cost sources of new electricity supply, and it is out of contact with the desires of most residents of the Province who are becoming increasingly concerned about climate change - in particular the younger members of the population .
