The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) operates West Nissouri Public School, located at 37 Elliott Trail in Thorndale with a population of approximately 463 students. The TVDSB’s interest in ERO number 019-3335, issued by the MNRF under the Aggregate Resources Act, relates to the proximity of the proposed pit to West Nissouri Public School.
Should a license be issued by the MNRF, TVDSB respectfully requests that the operator undertake enhanced dust mitigation measures on the property in order to ensure that there are no off-site impacts from the operation. We also request that any required noise attenuation measures be implemented as part of the licensing process in order to ensure that noise levels do not exceed provincial guidelines. In order to ensure that both dust and noise do not adversely affect our students and staff, the TVDSB respectfully requests that consideration be given to requiring ongoing monitoring of dust and noise generated from the operation, should it be approved.
