A proper cost/benefit…

A proper cost/benefit analysis was never done to determine the suitability of renewable energy sources for Ontario. As a result the province's electricity system has become burdened with unreliable, intermittent, low density energy sources. The province's businesses and energy users have been forced to pay artificially inflated electricity rates and the economy has suffered. The preferential treatment that was afforded green energy projects based solely on an ideology must be stopped.

Some people in my community have been forced to move due to negative impacts of industrial wind turbines. Others continue to suffer silently and have a reduced quality of life; they have given up reporting the negative impacts because nothing has been done to fix the problems. My property and family have been experiencing negative impacts for more than 10 years (including sleep disruption, vertigo, shadow flicker, seriously reduced enjoyment of our home and property). These are the types of costs that have never been considered while giving priority to green energy projects. The environment and wildlife continue to be negatively impacted as well by industrial wind turbines. It may take many years to accurately determine what the environmental costs will ultimately be.

The "first to grid" status of renewable projects must end. The subsidies to renewable energy projects and all artificial advantages must be removed. Preferential treatment of renewable energy projects needs to stop. Cancelling green energy contracts and making the projects compete on the open market for electricity pricing and supply would help the economy of Ontario. Those renewable energy projects that are causing harm or disturbance to humans and wildlife need to be decommissioned.
