It is most disconcerting to hear that the government is proposing to curtail the activities of the conservation authorities. The recreational and public access component of the CA program is just as important as the conservation priority. Providing public access and education is critical to maintaining public support for conservation goals. If the government proceeds to drastically reduce CA programs, I will do my best to ensure that the current administration is removed at the next election.
