I am gravely concerned that the current government has identified climate change (and programs associated with it) to be a party-based issue. It is not. There is no other issue more concerning and in need of immediate and decisive action that climate change. The Cap and Trade program encourages industry to take action; it provides a financial benefit to move forward while allowing the flexibility to do so. The funding it generates is immensely beneficial towards financing research, consumer choices and programming that will ensure we survive over the long run.

My only conclusion on the desire to stop of the Cap and Trade program is that current decision-makers are either uninformed on climate change and the need for a multi-pronged approach (which includes the Cap and Trade program) or are looking at their own interests and the short-term results. It is very important to note that it is entirely possible that decision-makers are uninformed as a vast majority of our representatives were born in an era that pre-dates current standards of climate change and environmental education. That is, they weren't taught about it in school and too, have had limited opportunity to learn about it since. And while it is a complicated issue and more easy to disregard, we can't. Scientific conclusions are big, scary and undeniable. Please consider formal education of our representatives.

Again, this is not a party issue; it is a serious and pending catastrophe. Please don't let us, our children, and future generations down. Addressing climate change in an expedited and comprehensive manner will ensure a future "for the people".

And while we're at it benefit financially by becoming the best at sustainable industry and innovation.
