In my opinion Port Colborne Quarries (PCQ) proposal to renew their Permit to Take Water 7645-AAYS3Y is miss leading and does not reflect a serious effort to protect the quantity and quality of the Highly Vulnerable Aquifer so should be denied. PCQ uses the ground water for more than dewatering the Pits and is required to progressively rehabilitate continually and sequentially as they mine the area which is not reflected in the proposal. PCQ's PTTW significantly impacts the vulnerability and influence on the water table of the area and is not consistent with the intention or obligations of various legislation and official plans.
