our information shows that Service Ontario uses the Letter G or D from the ownership of the vehicle
[this letter is stamped beside the word POWER on the ownership]
G for gas and D for diesel
we have seen heavy duty diesel vehicle ownerships with a G instead of a D on the ownership
The owner is then able to get a renewal WITHOUT an emission test
our comment is: Service Ontario should be using the 8th digit of the VIN or decode the VIN
to determine if the vehicle requires an emission test
