It is unacceptable that MTO still uses a paper format for safety inspections. This method enriches fraudsters while negatively impacting legitimate businesses that follow the right safety inspection rules. It also puts all road users at risk due to unsafe vehicles on the road.
MTO must go with electronic safeties and put the the bad actors out of business. Also make public a garage rating system- and identify garages with safety related violations. When it comes to public safety, government must ensure the vehicles they are registering have been properly safeties. Stand your ground against the cohort of business complaining - they are the ones you should be worried about.
