The Planning Division, on behalf of the City of Waterloo, supports additional flexibility being added to the Planning Act, including the proposed changes in Bill 13, the proposed Supporting People and Businesses Act, 2021, subject to local official plan policies specifying the types of approvals that may be delegated to staff or a committee of council.
Staff believes these changes will save time and money for development projects.
