The Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC) crosses through the watersheds of 7 different Conservation Authorities (CAs) and maintains a productive relationship with all of them. CAs have been crucial in leading the way for conservation in Ontario and helping to guide like-minded organizations such as the BTC. In particular, CA programs that work towards ecological restoration and the strengthening of biodiversity are increasingly important in the current landscape of Southern Ontario, where natural areas are under immense pressure from development. We would advise caution in removing CA programs that are aimed at these outcomes, as they are incredibly important and work to set a provincial standard for conservation.
