In the consultation materials and during the webinar, Ministry staff stated that the proposed changes do not affect provincial source protection funding. The statement in the consultation guide is anticipated to not impact funding. We would strongly urge the Province to maintain provincial source protection funding to the Conservation Authorities. A large portion of the source protection program is already funded by municipalities and if provincial funding to the Conservation Authorities would cease or be reduced, the shortfall would be once again funded by the municipalities through the levy.

Additionally, we wish to support the comments raised by the GRCA in their comments related to the proposed changes and source protection funding.
