The Welded Tube Company should never have been able to set up anywhere near a populated area. The combination of noise, air and light pollution greatly impacts the quality of life, especially sleep patterns for many households located around the plant. Those southwest of the plant are regularly subjected to any air pollution being discharged. This has been going on since shortly after opening back in 2012. Something should have been done long, long, ago!!
The cities hierarchy and economic development officer(moron) were desperate for jobs with little if any regard for any possible consequences that might arise. The company promised to work closely with the city, but has done nothing since erecting an ineffective dirt berm. They have shown no concern whatsoever for the surrounding community despite fielding numerous complaints. The only headline they have garnered is for almost crushing an employee to death due to substandard communication devises.(not surprising!!)
The city started with the “you’re the only one complaining” and then stated we should “understand as the company is one of the city’s largest employers”. Seriously? Would love to let them relocate to their neighborhood.
I also don’t feel anyone to date has bothered to seriously investigate just how bad the noise problem is. The compliance proposal has taken four plus years and to date absolutely nothing has been accomplished through government intervention. We now have just weeks to comment on a proposal that we can’t even view. Utterly disgusted with all facets dealing this matter!!
