I have a non-tesla EV. (Non telsa cannot charge at Tesla chargers) It is a high end Mustang Mach E with the largest battery available. I have had it for 1.5 years and I live in the heart of North Western Ontario. My community does not have a public charger of any kind. The distance between chargers here in the north are 100kms or more apart from each other. And just because there is a charger, does not mean that it is in working condition when you arrive. My experience is 50% for super chargers, which there are only 5 locations between Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay (700+kms). All other chargers take over an hour to charge a car to 80%, which is not going to encourage people to travel with an EV car. Also consider our weather, My experience is that at -25C or colder I lose 40-50% of my battery distance due to the cold and the heaters. So when travelling my 400kms range drops to roughly 320km due to only being able to charge to 80% at public chargers (after 80%, charge time is extended dramatically) and then subtract 50% if it is -35C that leaves me 160kms of distance. That makes it very scary to travel in the north in the winter. I am a pioneer of non-telsa EV ownership. I am an advocate of EVs becoming popular. I would love to be contacted for real life questions and answers to help grow Ontario's EV infrastructure in the north. Jim
