There needs to be more charging stations throughout the province. Instead of subsidizing private, individual use charging stations, those funds should be put towards public infrastructure or infrastructure accessible to more than a small number of individuals. Read more

Ontario is falling behind not only on EV but also for Hydrogen. There is a trend worldwide that Hydrogen powered vehicles especially heavyduty vehicles are rising. Electric vehicle chargers should be made available at multi-unit residential buildings. Landlords should be obligated to supply a electric vehicle charging solution to tenants. Pricing schemes can be tailored to ensure tenant-landlord parties are both benefitted fairly. Read more

Most common reason I hear people not wanting to adopt EVs is cause they are expensive or cause they worry about the range. The Ford government already took away the incentives for people in Ontario, so dedicating money to EV chargers is a good move in the direction to address the former. Read more

Probably your best bet is placing charging facilities where people travel between cities. Within the GTA there are plenty of options, but outside of the city, and on main highways, opportunities for charging EV’s for road trips are severely limited. Read more

The County of Haliburton needs more level 2 charging stations in areas where people are parked for many hours or overnight (the County currently has 4 locations with level 2 stations) and level 3 stations for people passing through (to head up to Algonquin Park, for example). Read more

First, I see a gap in EV charging stations in theatres parking spaces where people park their cars for 2-3 hours. Second, the rural areas are the most underserved. I would suggest that MTO downloads the PlugShare app and review the currently installed public chargers. Read more
