I am 100% opposed to any amendments to existing greenbelt legislation that would allow housing development in greenbelt areas. There is sufficient land available within city boundaries to allow for enough homes to be built to meet housing targets. This is simply a ploy to allow developers to made additional money from land expansion.
I already voted within the City of Hamilton for non-expansion outside of existing urban boundaries, and feel the government is totally ignoring public opinion on this one for the benefit of getting financial support from wealthy developers.
