Oak Ridges should be off limits, period.

With the installation of the Bloomington GO station this development proposal was inevitable. It leaves no need for imagination why that location in the middle of nowhere was selected. Bloomington was cleared only because it met certain thresholds to consider it "green" ie: a bike lane, a bike shelter and rain permeable pavers.
If the intention for the station had been to access the protected space in future, it should have been made explicitly known then so people could be outraged - and the province could have saved a lot of money.

Being granted access to protected land sets the precedent, that with enough influence to challenge land status - you can get what you want. A historical practice the Canadian Government is all too familiar with.

This is not what Ontarians want. Ontarians want better development in urban areas; we want better transit, better public services and less suburban sprawl.

The MMAH needs to offer better incentives to builders who choose projects within already urban dense areas. R1 development seems to be the easiest and most cost effective to build and that has to change if we want less congestion, safer roadways and better transit.
