do not eliminate protected green space from our communities. Focus efforts on making it beneficial for businesses to relocate to more rural locations so that there are jobs and affordable living outside of the GTA. Not everyone wants to live in a highly populated area. Canada is known for its vast richness in land and the environment, and Canadians want to live around this protected space. Once you build here it cannot be undone. There’s no going back. We already see an increase in wildlife walking amongst us in suburban neighbourhoods because we’ve taken away their land. Our children visit green space to learn about the richness and diverse ecosystems. Where are they going to go to explore nature if we take it away from them? Ontario is more than just Toronto, and we need to appreciate it as such! Stop padding pockets of developers and focus on the real problems like real estate money laundering, international property ownership and short term rentals in the city. There is not a shortage of homes, there are just thousands and thousands of homes sitting vacant! Markham is a perfect example of this. What will happen to the surplus of homes when baby boomers are gone? House prices will decline dramatically and families will lose their livelihoods! This plan is so short sighted that it will create far more problems down the road. Doug Ford doesn’t care about that though… he and his buddies will be too rich to care.
