The leases for the in park cottages should absolutely be extended to December 31, 2024. It seems like the process of these negotiations have taken too long already with no end in sight. I believe there should be no expiry date, rather have a renewal date for visiting the lease fees again. There should be no threat to the cottagers having to vacate. The cottages should stay in the park, the funds collected from the leaseholders should be kept for use, upkeep and development in this park over and above its current government budget which would include, replacing the government dock and the previous boat ramp on the lakeside. I believe the municipal tax payments to Chatham Kent be discontinued as there were no services added for the cottagers once taxes were added. The lease payments could be somewhat increased if funds are needed for the running of the park. Hope this helps and thank you for asking for our comments.
