I am entirely against this amendment. Gutting greenbelt protections for the sake of developers is completely unethical and backwards. Uban sprawl is already having massively devastating impact on natural habitats and farm land, which are both essential to long-term sustainability. The greenbelt is a protected habitat for so many different species and wildlife, which we have a responsibility to continue to protect. Instead of growing our overpopulated GTA further, incentivize settlement and growth in other parts of the province which could use the economic boost and have the land to support it.
