There is a reason the Green Belt was established and protected. Taking away or amending the protections is failing the environment. We are in a climate emergency, the next generations of our children and grandchildren will be inheriting whatever we leave for them. It is incredibly short sighted to do generations of damage just to build a few homes. There is viable space in already built up areas. Use that space. The cost of building on already fragile ecosystems far outweighs the benefits, both environmentally and monetarily.
