It is quite clear that the premier is attempting to grease the pockets of his developer friends.
There are thousands of unbuilt lots in plans of subdivision in the Region of Waterloo for example. The speed at which lots are moved from draft approval to registration has nothing to do with Regional government or area municipal government. That is clearly on the shoulders of developers. Unfortunately there are too few developers in this area and Mattamy and Activa have contril here. As well, there needs to be sunset clauses enabled to prevent deveopers sitting on land to hope for higher market prices or to delay other development because they are landlocked.
Bill 123 is merely smoke and mirrors by the Ford government to make it appear they are doing something about housing.
Mr Ford how about you get rid of blind bidding in the real estate industry. No where else in the world do you bid on something without knowing what the other person has bid. Homes are unaffordable because agents only benefit when people bid thousands of dollars over asking.
