The Greenbelt is one of Ontario’s southern remaining farmlands. Destroying our home in order to allow the development of urban sprawl for profit is an opportunity for developers to become even richer than they are from the housing crisis and does not address the problem of housing. The Ontario government is only concerned with profit when it comes to housing while the real issue of housing can be addressed by developing walkable communities with sufficient public transportation and bylaws. The Greenbelt is the only thing remaining that the Ontario government has not destroyed yet. I plan to eventually leave Ontario if horrible decisions and conditions like this persist. The province has become a corporate sprawl where no one can find peace or life. This province is dooming everyone except the rich to suffer.
