I AM A RONDEAU COTTAGE OWNER

I am replying to this ero with a Positive Keep the cottages in Rondeau and a few reasons why they should be..

1. They are the Main Source of a very important Safety factor for any visitor walking, biking, swimming, boating,, or visiting someone at a campsite or cottage. By this, I have personally been at a friends cottage who happened to be a doctor, when a wife of a person with a heart condition, came pounding on the door, as she was told there was a Dr. at that cottage. I was there when he was able to offer critical aid till a ambulance arrived. I have no doubt, that his life was saved because of that. I am sure their are other cottages that have medical people at them, and would be providing help immediately.

2. I personally have rescued Windsurfing Kiters from Rondeau Bay, whey were tangled up in the mass of weeds when they got caught up in them. The massive thick weeds totally engulfed there ropes and boards to a point they could not free them or themselves. They could not even detach from their equipment to get out. I have also rescued people from a swamped overturned sailboat, that got caught in a sudden wind and heavy rain downpour from the centre of the bay. A father with his son and daughter. I can report that all were rescued by myself and another cottage owner. In discussing this with the Superintendent at the time, he informed me that the park has no boat for rescues or that any park employee is trained to do so. I have heard of many other rescues over the years that have been made by cottagers. This park is surrounded by water, and cottagers are the first line for aid or main source of rescue. I can tell you of others if need be, but my point is clear, Cottagers are important to anyone using it.

3. Cell phones are handy, but reception in Rondeau is very limited in many areas. Many cottages have landlines if a emergency call has to be made, the cottagers land line could be the only life line.

Cottages need to be kept in the park on a Permanent Basis, and this needs to be accomplished with the sale of the lots as proposed. It is without doubt, the most positive solution the province can do for All parties involved, not only because I am a cottage owner, but for this Ontario Park, it's many campers, visitors, bird watchers, boaters, bikers, swimmers, sailboarders etc. I have not touched on any of the many many benefits cottages have provided to different species at risk that thrive in this park because of them and the habit they provide. 100 plus years of cottages, and there is No Proof that cottages are harming them.

Use this extension to get the sale of the cottages to Chatham Kent completed.
Thank you.
