I am a resident of Chatham…

I am a resident of Chatham-Kent, and Rondeau Provincial Park is personal for our family.

Heritage, both natural and built, are important to me. Rondeau is home to diverse and distinct Carolinian flora and fauna. The modest cottages of Rondeau Park, many of them a century old and more, are a designated Heritage Community in the municipality of Chatham-Kent. They have coexisted harmoniously for all these years.

I urge the extension of leases on cottage lots, to enable their proposed sale to the Municipality and thence cottagers, while providing Ontario Parks with additional old-growth Clear Creek forest far greater than the acreage of the cottage lots, and millions of dollars for reinvestment by the Ministry.

End this politicking and provide stability.
