I am strongly in favor of automatically extending leases for a minimum of 2 years, using this time to come up with a long term solution for the leases as has been discussed and promised. Minister Jeff Yurek directed that selling lots to leaseholders under Section 9(3) of the Provincial Parks & Conservation Reserves Act (2006) would the be best way to do this.

Cottagers are the biggest supporters of Rondeau Park, and without them Rondeau would not be as viable and the surrounding communities, as well as the park itself, would suffer. Let's get this done on a permanent basis! I belive there has been an offer to trade SUSBSTANTIAL land in exchange for the sale of the cottage lots, thus satisfying any who are not in favor of cottagers dwelling inside the park who complain about the amount of land used by cottagers. Overall, more land will be owned by Ontario Parks!
