I live in a listed but not registered century plus home in downtown Cobourg. Our house is an Ontario Vernacular Cottage. Although in downtown Cobourg, our home and all the houses on our street are located on 1/4 acre lots. The charm of our neighbourhood is placed at risk by these changes. There are plenty of development sites in Cobourg for high density development. Do not risk Cobourg's heritage neighbourhoods!
If this government really wants to make housing affordable, do something about the lack of rent control on any unit built after 2018.
Thank you.
