Don’t develop the green belt…

Don’t develop the green belt. It’s so ecologically important, paving over it would be disastrous. The gta is large enough and there are tons of empty lots that can be turned into homes.

Expanding into the green belt will not help affordability when most of the new builds will be large single family homes, which the majority can’t afford. Mid density housing is the piece of the puzzle we are missing. Mid density housing built on lots already developed in the city is the way to go. There is already very little green space in southern Ontario, don’t make it smaller.

We cannot afford to lose anymore farmland. The green belt is home to some of the most fertile land in our province. We cannot sacrifice that land for development. We already have to import the majority of our food, this will only further the problem.

We do what we can until we know better, then we do better. It’s time to do better and consider the environment when making decisions.
