Hello,
I work as an engineer specializing with heritage buildings for context and I have been involved in a number of projects that speak towards the following remarks.
I believe this bill is counter-intuitive and allows for more costly solutions to be prioritized rather than the more economic choices available. knocking down older homes to make way for new ones is more costly in terms of money, time, and environmental impact. Rather the older buildings should be retrofitted for the new desired purpose. This would significantly reduce time of construction, reduce budget costs, and would greatly reduce the amount of building waste going to landfills and new materials needing to be manufactured which also creates an emissions impact. Use what's already in place!
