I am completely against this motion.
There is LESS cost certainty as the environment reviews are downloaded to municipal governments. There is also increased pressure on existing infrastructure in terms of usage and cost to maintain/repair. Increased congestion will deteriorate the quality of life for affected Ontarians. It is a bandage solution to build more homes but what it needs is to build sustainable satellite cities around the GTHA and connect with public transit. Think about Europe and how connected and close the cities are. Building more homes faster will not result in less financial burden for the cities that have reached a natural equilibrium capacity.
