As a Family Doctor in Ontario, I can confidently attest that time in nature positively impacts the mental and physical health of my patients.
The plan to develop a large portion of protected Greenbelt space is dangerously flawed. Important wetlands, forests and habitats for living creatures will be irreversibly destroyed. In the time of a climate crisis, this plan is dangerously short-sighted and deeply flawed.
As a Torontonian, I understand and support the need to create more housing in the form of density. We must protect the finite sources of clean air and water - how else will our children and grandchildren flourish?
The Ford government should not pride itself on a legacy of environmental destruction in the name of development. By doing so, he is reversing his promise to uphold the Greenbelt, how can this government be trusted?
Please, please do what is right and protect our precious natural environment that is life-sustaining.
Thank you.
