This proposal should be abandoned. It is vital to protect the Greenbelt from any development and suburban sprawl needs to be halted in order to protect our forests, sources of drinking water, biodiversity, and to address climate change. The solution is not to build in the few remaining green areas of the land, but to look at other solutions including the difficult one of limiting the number of people that specific areas can actually support. Alternatives to single homes must also be examined as this mode of living is not sustainable with the increasing human population growth that has no limits on it.
