Please do not take any lands from the Greenbelt for development. It is crystal clear from investigative reports that removing land from the Greenbelt is completely unnecessary. Even the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force concluded that a shortage of land was not the cause of the housing crisis. Taking land from the Greenbelt will also prove to be detrimental to the environment and contribute to climate change. Moreover, the Premier promised over and over during the 2018 election campaign that he would never touch the Greenbelt. Now that he has revoked this promise, how can he expect anyone in the province to trust him again? The fact that, according to the Globe and Mail, some of the targeted Greenbelt lands were being purchased by developers even before the Better Homes, Built Faster Act was proposed makes Doug Ford seem even less reliable. There is absolutely no justification for taking any Greenbelt land for housing. This simply should not be allowed.
