Hello! The proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan stink and should absolutely not be allowed to stand for the following reasons, among others:
1. Doug Ford promised Ontarians he would not touch the Greenbelt - this should be enough reason for anyone with integrity to not support these changes.
2. The TRCA and other conservation authorities are experts in wetland management - they have a critical role in making recommendations for ecologically valuable lands. Our future cannot be left up to developers.
3. The area you are planning to “add” to the Greenbelt is already protected by other rules so suggesting you are increasing the Greenbelt in any significant way is disingenuous.
4. There are so many better ways to get AFFORDABLE housing built closer to public transportation so that we don’t just increase the sprawl and make our highways busier. What you are proposing is the opposite of what experts are suggesting as a way forward. Listen to them!
