Anaergia Inc. would like to submit the following comments to be considered and factored into the Food and Organic Waste Framework Policy:
1.Allow and encourage organics recovery from Mixed Waste Processing to increase and achieve organic diversion targets.
2.Allow combined preprocessing and anaerobic digestion of organics separated from MSW with organics separated from SSO.
3.Allow co-digestion of sewage sludge and organics separated from MSW and SSO.
4.Rather than not allowing organics from MSW to be spread on farmland due to the nature of the organics source, instead, standardize quality requirements for organics recovered from all sources.
5.In the event that digestate from anaerobic digestion (AD) of organics does not meet compost quality and is sent to landfill, the reduction of volatile solids achieved in the AD should still count as diversion, regardless of the end use of the final product.
