These proposed changes should not proceed. The proposed changes will undermine heritage planning in municipalities. The process is already difficult and landowners have lots of chance to stop listing and designation. The Heritage Act is not an impediment to building affordable housing. New provincial funding to build affordable rental housing is what is needed.
