hello
i oppose this bill. specific areas of primary concern are
1- Schedule 2, changes to the Conservation Authorities Act and regulations. We must retain "conservation of land" as part of the mandate of Conservation Authorities.
The proposed changes to the Conservation Authority regulations (ERO 019-6141) allows landowners to "cut and fill" in any wetland or floodplain area without regard to the ecological values before they ever file a planning application, and this must not be allowed.
2- We need the Ontario Wetlands Evaluation System to remain intact ! wetlands are critical to our wellbeing, and are also economically important for water management.
3- parkland dedication in Schedule 3 would cut the amount of parkland that must be set aside by developers by 50%. Parks are already low in amount and very important to urban residents such as myself. Parkland dedication must remain at the rate of 1 hectare per 300 dwelling units, or preferably increase.
thank you,
michael
