This is simply horrible. I’m not sure additional words are required. One of the best parts of Ontario is our vast and well protected green spaces. We have many endemic endangered species including many amphibians that rely heavily on our willingness to work together to protect them. The conservation authorities have proven time and time again that their current processes have carefully insured the continuation of the balance between our green spaces and our communities. This isn’t “streamlining” it’s a dismantling of the conservation authority. Especially at this unprecedented time in history where we are combating global change in climate and Canada has made a commitment to significantly reduce our carbon footprint, it is counterintuitive and counterproductive to enter into wetland specifically - a significant amount of carbon is held in wetland. History will not look upon us fondly if we continue to destroy the best parts of this province.
