Please approve Waterloo Region's Official Plan Amendment 6. All but one of our 17 elected officials voted in favour of Regional Official Plan Amendment 6.
The Region of Waterloo depends on underground aquifers for our drinking water. Suburban sprawl beyond the development boundaries would threaten our water supply and quite possibly require the province to spend billions of dollars to build a pipeline to this Region.
We also have a unique heritage of Mennonite farmers who travel by horse and buggy. These farmers provide much of the fresh food people in the region depend on. Their ancestors were the original immigrant settlers of this region and its surrounding areas. They deserve the opportunity to continue their way of life.
