An extremely comprehensive amendment to the Official Plan (OP), that recognizes broad community needs such as a climate change strategy, as well as specific needs such as an excess soil strategy.
This modified OP should serve as a template for other regions, especially those with a similar mix of urban and rural communities. As an example. the recognition of specific different needs of Urban Growth Centres versus Township Growth Centres (transit), while concurrently recognizing broad common needs (15 minute community design), strongly benefits the region as a whole .
I urge this amendment be approved without change.
