All but one of our 17 elected representatives voted for the Regional Official Plan Amendment 6 because it fights climate change and will reduce traffic emissions, the biggest source of greenhouse gases in Waterloo Region. The provincial government is irresponsible and shortsighted to propose paving over precious farmland that is essential to our current and future food security! They should respect the wishes of the people of Waterloo Region and leave our land-use plan alone!
